HOT on the heels of its highly successful URCC 5 Deliverance fight night last Jan. 15, 2010, the Yaw-Yan Ardigma Martial-Arts Federation Inc., is now accepting enrollees for its summer training program at the club’s new expansion gym at the 4th floor of the Coast Pacific Building in Sanciangko St. Cebu City across the University of Cebu (UC).
Yaw-Yan ArDigma is derived from the last two syllables of “Sayaw ng Kamatayan” or “Dance of Death”, an authentic Filipino martial art by GM Napoleon “Nap” A. Fernandez which uses the body as a weapon.
It trains students the different techniques of punching, kicking, head and shoulder butting, and the use of elbows and knees to take down opponents.
Recently, URCC champion Tom Woodfin, trained in the Yaw-Yan Ardigma Gym before he fought his Iranian foe, and eventually won their fight last Jan. 15. Three other Yaw-Yan fighters also triumphed in the recent URCC 5 including Geronimo Etac, Bonbon Llera and Mark Revalde.
The founder of Yaw-Yan Ardigma-Cebu, Benigno “Ekin” Caniga Jr. and the organizer of the Ground and Pound Series here, are inviting martial arts and fitness enthusiasts to enroll and train under him as well as his veteran and professional instructors. Students enjoy a 50% discount.
The club’s other instructors include chief instructor Rommel Villamor and Piloto. Courses offered are Arnis, Boxing, Fitness, Yaw-Yan Combat (Self Defense), Yaw-Yan Ardigma System and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
The summer training program will start on April 1, 2010 while the next Ground and Pound Series will kick off this June.
